Hibiscus 'Red Flyer' starts flowering in mid-July and continues until frost
since this poor plant's identity has been batted around by taxonomists more than a tennis ball on Wimbledon's Centre Court
considering the array of echinaceas we've trialed
(aka: Cypripedium segawai) Cypripedium segawae is an endangered Taiwanese ladyslipper orchid from Hualien Province
but only in the fall
Baptisia First Blush Andropogon Hibiscus 'Red Flyer' starts floweringBaptisia 'First Blush' is a 2018 Plant Delights JLBG introduction from a series of crosses that include Baptisia minor, Baptisia albescens, and Baptisia tinctoria. The 52" spikes include 15" of flowers that emerge as pink buds with a yellow base, that age to white against the charcoal grey stalks. Baptisia 'First Blush' is a later flowering selection that doesn't start for us until mid May, which is nearly a month after the early flowering baptisias.
